Re: [TRNSYS-users] Some questions about Type 56
Knut Erik,
According to the Type 56 manual, the slope is used to calculate the view factor of the window to the sky:
"For an unobstructed surface with the slope β, FSKY is calculated by
the following equation: FSKY= (1+cosβ)/2 (i.e. 1 for a horizontal surface, 0.5 for a vertical surface
with unobstructed view ). The value is used as a weighting factor between ambient and sky
temperature and thereby especially important for windows."
However, I just did a quick test, and despite changing the slope of window the value of FSKY in the .bui file does not change. Curious...

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Some questions about Type 56
Dear all,
I have noticed that there is a field called "slope of window" in the window Type manager. But the window also has an ORIENTATION, and its slope and azimuth is set by the radiation processor. Does anyone know the purpose of this "slope of window" in the Type manager?
I am trying to model a greenhouse with plants in it, and the plants model need to know the amount of solar radiation being transmitted through the greenhouse cover. Does anyone know which Type 56 NTYPE is most appropriate for outputting the radiation level inside a zone? My current choice is NTYPE 14.
Thank you and kind regards,
Knut Erik Enerstvedt
