Re: [TRNSYS-users] multi zone bldg wizard error in vista

Hi Lucas,

In my experience, things work much better if you copy the TRNSYS installation to

\Trnsys16

(instead of to Program Files …).

In each new version of Windows, Microsoft adds some pitfall that makes programmes installed in “program files” malfunction (I wonder why?).

At one point it was the space in the folder name, now it seems to be some access right problem (it is best to be administrator, too).

Unfortunately, I don’t have Vista, so I can’t give more details.

Hope it still helps,

Werner

Objet : [TRNSYS-users] multi zone bldg wizard error in vista

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows what I need to do to get the multi zone (type 56) building wizard to function properly in vista.  I think that it has something to do with the program trying to generate files and vista not allowing it because it is trying to be more secure.  I am logged in as an administrator.  I keep getting the following errors:

Visual Fortran run-time error
forrtl: severe (600): access not allowed
Image         PC      Routine      Line       Source
gentrn.dll    1010D519  Unknown   Unknown   Unknown

and

SimulationStudio
The BUI file need to be translated and is about to be processed by
TrnsysStudio. Click OK to continue...

and then the same error again as listed above.
I feel as though it may be best to simply not use the wizard, but it gives me a quick start on a building.  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
Lucas
