Re: [TRNSYS-users] loss coefficient / type31 pipe_duct

Jean,
If you have the loss coefficient as W/m.K you need to know whether the length that they are talking about is per unit length of pipe/duct or per unit thickness of the insulating material. From that, you should be able to find out what the relevant loss coefficient per unit area of the pipe surface is using formulas from a basic heat transfer text book.
Kind regards,
David

Hi every body,

I have a little question about the Type31 Pipe_Duct.
I also have a problem to give a value for the loss coefficient because =

TRNSYS want a loss coefficient in W/m=B2K. The problem is that i only =

find loss coefficient in W/m.K.... so, if someone of you have an answer.

thank you very much

regards, Jean
