Re: [TRNSYS-users] drop-in DLLs error

Chatchawan,

It may be worth trying the following.

In the Studio, click on: File -> Settings …-> Directories.

Check (make sure) that the paths of your TRNSYS/TRNSED/TRNBUILD .. etc. applications point to the directory where you installed your TRNSYS and its subprograms. So, check the name of the directory where you installed TRNSYS (is it: C:\Program Files\Trnsys16_1 OR C:\Program Files\Trnsys16 OR else ?) Then make sure this path is reflected in the “Settings” in the “Directories”.

Unfortunately, “ERROR 1000 - check the list file for more information”, is one the most frustrating error messages I often encounter when running TRNSYS.

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] drop-in DLLs error

Dear All
Regarding upgrading from 16.0 to 16.1 and the problem with drop-in DLLs, I followed instruction as David Bradley mentioned (see below). However, I still couldn't get my project run. Even any of the examples won't run.

Before I installed 16.1, I completely removed 16.0. I even remove the directory "Transys16". At this point, I could run the examples (I mostly tested with SDHW). Then, I installed TESS libraries. Now I can not run the example any more. I copied all the DLLs in "..\Trnsys16\UserLib " and put them in "..\Trnsys16\UserLib\ReleaseDLLs". This doesn't help. I still got Error 1000.

I'm running WinXP with SP3.

Can anyone help me?

Best regards,
Chatchawan

Bertrand,
You need to take all of the files with the extension *.dll from the

..\Trnsys16\UserLib

directory and put them into either ..\Trnsys16\UserLib\ReleaseDLLs

\  or ..\Trnsys16\UserLib\DebugDLLs\ depending on the mode on which your external DLLs were compiled and linked. If you aren't sure which mode the DLLs are compiled and linked in, put them into ..\Trnsys16\UserLib\ReleaseDLLs\.

Cheers,
 David
