Re: [TRNSYS-users] How to use the type 687 with type56?
Yujun,
I would not recommend using Type687 with Type56. Type687 is a quite
simplified window model that calculates the net energy transfer through
the window based only on the three values published by the US National
Fenestration Research Council (the overall u-value, the solar heat gain
coefficient, and the visible transmittance) and is intended for use with
some of the simpler building models. The window model built into Type56
is much more comprehensive, accounts for incidence angle effects,
calculates a window surface temperature that enters into the Type56 zone
radiation balance, accounts seperately for center of glass and frame
effects, allows the use of shading devices, etc.
Kind regards,
David
