Re: [TRNSYS-users] Determination of loading profile using Type56

Chun Kwong,
I think your interpretation of QSENS and QLATD are correct. It is hard to determine why the building is not responding to an appropriately sized heat pump without knowing a bit more about which heat pump model you are using; it might be that there is a problem with the controls that are preventing the working fluid of the heat pump (air or water) from getting into the building zones. There might be a unit conversion error (Type56 wants it ventilation flow rates in air changes and most HVAC components put out flow rates in mass flow units of kg/h so you have to convert). I would suggest putting an online plot onto the the inlet and outlet streams of the heat pump component to verify that it is performing as you would expect it to.
Kind regards,
 David

Hello, Trnsys users.

I try to estimate the loading profile of a building using the Type56
multi-zone model. I suppose that by assigning a set value for the
room temperature and relative humidity, the calculated QSENS_CORE and
QLATD_CORE should represent the sensible and latent load of the
building. However, when I then select a heat pump of similar capacity
to simulate, the result indicate that the heat pump is seriously
undersized. Is my interpretation of the building loads wrong? Is so,
how can I get it correctly? Your reply is highly appreciated. Thank
you!
