Re: [TRNSYS-users] type 109 - rain as output
Dear Elisabeth,
Type89 is reporting the information that is in the TMY2 data file. On
NREL's website for the TMY2 user's manual
(http://rredc.nrel.gov/solar/old_data/nsrdb/tmy2/), you can find the
following information:
- The precipitable water is calculated from radiosonde data.
- The uncertainty flag (7) for the precipitable water indicates that the
"uncertainty is consistent with NWS practices and the instrument or
observation used to obtain the data".
So, my understanding is that the value for precipitable water is
calculated from other measurements. The uncertainty propagation of the
instrument precision results in a minimum value that is greater than zero.
Best regards,
Diego

Hi everybody
i am doing a natural ventilation model under trnsys/comis and i need to
check if it is not raining outside to open my windows.
as the rain is not a output of the ype 109 i tried to use the type 89d (my
simulation starts mid april) but i don't think the output i get as the
precipitable water is really the rain - i join a excel file where you can
see what kind of value i get.
i tried too to add the rain as output in the type 109. the rain values have
to be retrieved with the "field position 116" but i don't figure out what it
is and where they are.
thank you for heping me!!1
Elisabeth
