Re: [TRNSYS-users] Solar combi system for domestic hot water and spaceheating

Title: Nachricht
Monika, Richard,

thanks for your hints on type 340.

I think a simple approach could be considering a standard tank with one solar heat exchanger. Its whole volume is meant for storing hot water and water for space heating. That assumes that the inner hot water tank reaches the whole outer tank height. The difference to a detailed tank in tank model might be negligble (heat flux from outer to inner volume, delay in destratification) since the temperature of every layer of the inner and outer tank will correspond.

Since I just realised that all standard types only model 2 in- and outlets, type 340 is quite useful anyway.

Best regards

Timo

Hi Timo,
there is a TRNSYS Nostandard Type with a detailed model of a thermal store (Type 340), which includes up to 4 internal heat exchangers and up to 10 double ports. With this model it is even possible to simulate a tank-in-tank storage.
You can find the documentation on http://www.trnsys.de/download/de/ts_type_340_de.pdf
Kind regards
Monika

Hello TRNSYS experts!

Does anybody of you has any experience simulating a solar combi system using a combined tank (hot water tank within heating water tank)? Is there any type which model that kind of tank in tank system?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards

Timo
