Re: [TRNSYS-users] Changing the role of a standard component

Papia,
I am not sure if anyone got back to you about this or not - if so, my apologies for the duplicate response. In order to change a TRNSYS model variable from an output to an input, you need to modify the Fortran source code of the model, recompile, and relink it into a DLL. TRNSYS models take the parameters and inputs to a model and calculate the outputs accordingly. In some cases, you will need to make some significant changes to the algorithms inside the component if you want to switch input and output variables. If you would like to send me a bit more information about which model, and which output variable you want to change, I might be able to give you some further hints.
Cheers,
David

Dear TRNSYS users,

I have just started to use TRNSYS for centralized cooling system and I am just a novice. I would like to know If I change any of the output variable to an input variable or vice-versa to a component, do I need to generate new component? If not, I am not able to change any of the variable properties from the Proforma dialogue box even after saving the changes?

btw I will highly appreciate If any body like to share a basic central cooling model with me.

Best regards
Papia

Dear TRNSYS users, I have a question for you :

It is possible to create a weather file ? And how ?
I would like to simulate extreme climatic conditions.

Fabien Morice.

Dear Fabien,

You can easily read weather data that you want. TYPE-109-user will generate
for you climate data considering several inputs (beam and diffuse radiation
are needed on a surface to define radiation on any tilted surface for
example). The inputs and way that TRNSys will read are explained in Mat.ref.
manuel chap 5.14.

You can also use Type9 to read data at a specified time step or use Type16
to read solar data.

Regards

Hello,

I have another question regarding the model of the chilled ceiling: It's
generally possible to use it as a heating ceiling? Im trying to do it but
the results don't convince me. Can anyone write about his experiences? Thank
you!

Bettina

Generator Microsoft Word 11 (filtered medium) Maybe you' re looking for something like meteonorm: METEONORM is a global climatological database combined with a synthetic weather generator. The output are climatological means as well as time series of typical years for any point on earth.
See http://www.meteotest.ch/en/mn_description?w=ber

Good luck
Hermann.
