There is a TRNSYS subroutine called "CallProgram" that can be modified to suit your needs I think. For an example of how to implement CallProgram, you can look at Type66, which allows TRNSYS to launch and call EES. You don't need to worry about the communication part of the TRNSYS/EES connection and can probably see fairly easily how CallProgram is used.
