Re: [TRNSYS-users] Cooling with lake water

Johan,
I believe that Transsolar has a model of a swimming pool that can be uncovered. That might be appropriate for your pond model. I suppose at some point a pond or a lake simply acts as an infinite temperature source / sink. You could model a pipe descending through the stratified lake simply by connecting segments of Type31 together with different environment temperatures.
Kind regards,
 David

Dear TRNSYS users,

I'm looking for a type in TRNSYS for simulating a pond or lake with water (volume: 600000 m³, depth: 10 m) for cooling purposes. The temperature at the bottom of the lake is around 6°C.  Is there a type available in the TRNSYS library which could could serve for this application? A model with stratification possibilities would be nice.

Thanks a lot!!
Johan Desmedt
