Dear Sir,
I am pleased to inform you that the next International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies (SET 2006) will be held in Vicenza, Italy on the 30 August - 1 September 2006. The Conference is organised by the Department of Industrial Management and Engineering, University of Padova.
The continuing objective of this conference series is to promote study and application of the sustainable energy technologies. The conference invites researchers, engineers, government officers and company delegates from the field of energy technologies to gather, present and share the results of their work in these areas and discuss future strategies for sustainability.
Please find attached the first announcement of the Conference which includes important dates and deadlines to submit abstracts, etc. The Conference website is http://www.gest.unipd.it/set2006 where you can find additional and updated information regarding registration fees, accommodation, travel, transportation and social events for delegates and accompanying people.
Vicenza is a town (population 110.000) 30 km west of Padua and at less than one hour train from Venice. The considerable cultural interest of Vicenza is linked mainly to the name of the architect Andrea Palladio that realised numerous famous historical buildings in Vicenza. Palladian architecture is considered a universal value that had an enormous influence all over the world and that is why Vicenza is included in UNESCO's World Heritage List (www.vicenzae.org).
The Conference venue is just 200 m from the Teatro Olimpico (which will probably be the site of one of the social events) and close to the pedestrian area in the town center.
After the Conference you could enjoy the pleasure of spending the week-end visiting the wonderful Venice or other beautiful towns and sites (Venetian villas for example) in our region Veneto.
I hope then to meet you here in Vicenza during this important scientific event.
Best regards
Renato Lazzarin
Chairman of the Organizing Committee
