Re: [TRNSYS-users] Orientation...
Dear Guillaume,
I am not sure if I understood your problem. Please find below my answers.

Dear all,
I've created a project with 6 orientations (East, South, West,
Northwest, Northeast and Horizontal).
I've used the wizard under Studio in order to have the frame to
simulate the building. In the wizard only 4 orientations can be defined.
When I replaced the Type 56 created by the wizard by my project,
After you replaced the default building with the one that you already
had with 6 radiation inputs, you have to right click on Type56's icon
and select 'update building variable list'. This will update the
project, and will allow the connections for your 6 radiation inputs.
and after having specified that 6 orientations have to be considered,
I tried to connect the new variables to the different Input of the
"Radiation Calculator" but I don't know how replace the following
equation concerning only the North orientation: IB_N = Input9 *
LT(AI_N,90).
You have to specify the new orientations in Type109, telling it to
calculate the radiation on two more surfaces. Then, in the 'Radiation'
equations, you have to create new inputs so you can use the information
from Type109. On the left part of the equation window, click on the
icon 'Add new input variable'. By default it will name it 'InputN',
where N is the next input number. On the right panel of the equation
window, create a new output variable, with the manipulation that you
want on the new InputN. You can connect it to the building.
Remember that the 'Radiation' equations created by the wizard are
intended to create new variables, so it is easier to make the
connections. It is easier when you can recognize the name of the
orientations.
Finally, the variable AI_N is set in the 'Turn' equation'.
Please let me know if this helps.
Best regards,
Diego
Thanks in advance,
Guillaume Renault
