Dear TRNSYS users, As announced recently on the
COMIS user's mailing list, EMPA and CSTB are currently preparing a new
version of the COMIS Air Flow and Pollutant Transport simulation software,
COMIS Simulation Studio 3.2. As the same
graphical front end has been used for both COMIS and TRNSYS (CSTB's Simulation Studio), COMIS project editors will
also be available in the next (free) update of TRNSYS, TRNSYS 16.1. In addition to that, a new
project creation wizard for creating coupled TRNSYS+COMIS (i.e. air flow and
thermal) simulation projects has been added. This editor allows TRNSYS users to
graphically design the air flow network for building simulations, and connect
it to the building. (An executive summary is
available at ftp://ftp.cstb.fr/pub/evl/iisibat/comis/v3.2/comis_studio.ppt
; more information on COMIS can be found at http://software.cstb.fr/soft/present.asp?context=COMIS
). While this new version of the
Simulation Studio has been tested by many COMIS users, we do not have many beta
testers interested in coupled building simulation as of now. Therefore, I would like to
invite you today to participate in a beta-test of Simulation Studio 4.1 for
TRNSYS 16.1 and COMIS 3.2. To qualify for the beta test
you should -
have an interest in air flow and thermal
building simulation -
agree to execute at least one sample air flow project
(the one described in the tutorial) -
agree to send us a short report about any
problems you may encounter, as well as suggestions for improvements -
own a valid TRNSYS 16 license (a COMIS license
is not required; beta testers who do not own COMIS will be provided with a free
version, with limits similar to the version that will be distributed with the future
TRNSYS 16.1 version - max. 10 zones, 20 links; owners of COMIS 3.1 can
use the full COMIS 3.2 with unlimited number of zones/links) -
agree to refrain from using the beta version as
soon as the final TRNSYS 16.1 is released (all TRNSYS users will receive a free
update of the final version at that point, including a limited COMIS version) If you would like to
participate in this beta test, please transfer this email to software@cstb.fr containing: -
A contact person and email address -
Your TRNSYS license number (found in ?/About in
the Simulation Studio) -
A short description of your activity o
type of organization o
experience with TRNSYS o
experience with COMIS (if any - not required) If you are selected, you will
receive instructions for downloading the beta and accompanying documentation in
return. I sincerely hope that many
users will seize this opportunity to participate in the design of an even
better TRNSYS and COMIS ! On behalf of the COMIS project
