Re: [TRNSYS-users] daylight in offices

Dear Ruut,
I did a TRNSYS study some years ago that included a daylighting aspect. We were looking at the usual ability to step back electric lights based upon the amount of available daylight on a particular work surface. While there was not a particular Type that I was able to use, I found a lot of good information in a Master's Thesis done at the Solar Energy Lab in 1996 by Jim Kelsey. You can download the thesis online from http://sel.me.wisc.edu/publications/theses/theses2.html. I hope that helps.

Dear trnsys-users,

I need to know if enough daylight reaches certain office rooms. I know Trnsys component 56 models on an energy basis, but can it also tell the amount of light which enters a room? This e.g. depends on the height of the windows and this can not be entered in Prebid. Is there another Trnsys component which is able to predict the amount of daylight entering a room? If not, does anybody know if there is another simulating tool which is able to do this?

Thanks in advance,

With kind regards,
