[TRNSYS-users] Type 34 shading device and additional external shading

Arie,

thank you for this solution. I don't know if it is physically correct
but it seems to make sense and works fine.

Timo

Hi Timo,

I think you should not multiply the shading factors, but the
transmissions:

total transmission = (1- shading by type 34) * (1- shading by blinds).

the total shading now equals (1- total transmission)

regards, Arie.

Onderwerp:	[TRNSYS-users] Type 34 shading device and additional
external shading

Hello,

it is the first time I use Type 34 with Type 56 and until now everything
worked fine. But what I actually want to simulate is a window shaded by
slats at the facade (wingwall shading) and by an additional external
shading device (venician blinds). How can I combine the values resulting
from these two effects?

My two ideas were:

1 I can multiply (equation component or directly in the building
description) the shading factor calculated by type 34 with an additional
external shading factor (say 0.5). But the result can be 0 (no shading)
although the window is shaded.

2 I can add these two values which may result in a shading factor larger
than 1...

Type 34 has been discussed several times in the group but I did not find
any hints on that problem. Has somebody got an idea?

Thanks for your advice!

Timo
